Two Years ago back in 2007 I felt I wasn't ready to go to college yet because the pain of the heartbreak I felt at the hands if my ex-girlfriend ruined my stability, and the later death of a dear and wonderful friend destroyed me. It all caused me to spiral in a thick and black depressive state that I often tried to hide or burry behind video games or anime.

I felt I needed a break, that I'd tackle college in half year, when I'm good and ready. I remember it clearly, around the time Super Mario Galaxy came out was the point when I began to take the steps needed to apply to Seneca college, the program I orginally wanted to go to merged into Television Broadcasting and at this point me and my ex were on speaking terms, and starting to really become friends again. I had to take some english test and wait till winter for the orientation for a program that I'd start in May. my mindset was "yah I'm giving up my summers, but I get the winters and springs off..i dont mind".

At the orientation though, I was in for a painful surprise. It turned out the program starting in May was canceled, they were gonna merge everyone into the fall 08 program which is rediculous because the program is hard ENOUGH to get into as it is so your going to slap another 200 applicants on there? What resulted was the first dagger. near september we got a letter...saying I didnt make it into the program.

My mom asked me what I wanted to do..and I told her I'll just try again for Winter...so we quickly applied againa nd gave it another shot. a winter later, I got rejected again sometime in december...at this point i was really, really feeling broken...But I tried again, this time for Fall 09 and Winter 09, for awhile I was basicly in limbo, feeling pressure for the time I'd been wasting, feeling doubt because of the 2 turn downs, by this point I knew the seneca campus very well and basicly memorized the orientation. I wasn't excited for it anymore, there was a formula and I knew it.I knew i had to go, and I had to keep trying my best so I did.

At this point all the saddness that kept me from going to college on time and applying during high school was gone. Duo ex Mania vented out all these feelings of sadness and actually allowed me to really accept my ex as my friend without ever once thinking og the dark times. Friends like Josh, Dan, Chewy and frankly everyone helped keep me together and just...make me feel okay with the fact i wasn't in school because I'd be getting there eventually.

Thank you, all of you who never abandoned me because of my situation.

Time passed and my 20th birthday was coming up, my 19th was truly wasted by dissappointment and let downs, I was forced to wait, that was all I could do...and for that I wasn't looking forward to turning 20. I didn't want this year of life to be more of the same. I hated the feeling...thinking what was in my parents heads, the thought of what a disappointment I must've been to them.

Boy, the day after my birthday, everything changed.

July 24th, 2009. I got accepted into Seneca's Broadcasting Television program. I don't know how, I'm not even sure why. But it happened. I got accepted and now...now its September 7th. Classes start toorrow at about 12:35pm.

To most this is a big deal cuz...hey its college, this is the big leagues, the start towards our future after high school.

But for me....for 2 years...my life was on hault, I battled my saddness, I conquered it, I lost many friends but found new ones, stronger ones. I created my most precious work and now run a modestly successul pokemon website where my creativity continues to flurish. But now...I can continue where I had to be left off for way too long. Am I ready? As ready as I'll ever be....Am I nervous? Very...even now I'm scared that some complications with tution and loans will cost me my entire college career. The stress will never go away...but the sadness has.

737 days later I wake up on my last day of this vacation I started back in 2007.

I honestly don't know if I'm ready, but I kept trying to open the door and I finally have. So now it's time to see what's on the other end. It's my time.

I know there's another story to be told over there.
