Ext. Wasraw – bridge – day – cloudy and gloomy

CLOSE ON Hugin as he stands tiredly in the middle of the bridge, looking over (facing the screen) at the crowd of regular citizens (OS).

Hugin
…What did just you say?

WIDEN ON (UV) the front of the crowd of regular citizens being kept back by The Enforcers.

(OS)
You don’t want the Genocide of Sin anymore? You gave your consent!

Citizen #1
Well we take it all back then! This isn’t right!!

CLOSE ON Hugin’s left eye as it widens and begins to twitch.

Hugin
You had eight months to say something…why now?!

POV – between two Enforcers’ shoulders – the “leader” of the group of citizens as Citizen #1 holds his fists up and looks ahead (at the screen) angrily.

Citizen #1
Those damn ads you Enforcers covered our city with, they were nothing but propaganda!!

Citizen #1 closes his eyes and shakes his head repeatedly.

GRRR…if this is how you’re going to destroy the demon that dwells within Sin Prodigies, then we want nothing to do with it!!!

Citizen #1 boldly glares ahead and tries to charge forward, only to have the two Enforcers in front of him grab his arms and push him back. All the other citizens yell out as they also attempt to riot forward but The Enforcers hold them back.

WIDEN ON Hugin from the regular citizen’s side of the bridge as he stands with his head lowered.

Citizen #2 (OS)
LEAVE OUR CITY YOU MONSTERS!!!

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face, he lowers his head, looking away and closing his eyes tightly.

Citizen #3 (OS)
YOU’RE NOT WELCOME HERE ANYMORE!!

WIDEN behind Hugin while the citizens in the distance yell out and riot. ZOOM OUT slowly to behind Calligraphy and Aaliyah at the front of the crowd of Sin Prodigies.

POV – standing beside Calligraphy – Looking down at her and Aaliyah watching the people on the other side of the bridge rioting (OS).

Calligraphy
(disbelief)
This is unbelievable…

Aaliyah
(groaning)
What’s going on over there…?

Calligraphy
It looks like a riot…like the rest of Wasraw are actually standing up against this!

CLOSE ON a few Sin Prodigies at the front of the crowd as they look at each other.

Sin Prodigy #1
(confused)
Does this mean…that they don’t want us to die anymore…?

Sin Prodigy #2
I-I’m…not sure, maybe…

CLOSE ON the brightly glowing drawing on the scroll between Calligraphy’s hands of a circle with a line slashed through it.

Calligraphy (OS)
I’d better keep this barrier up, just to be safe.

WIDEN ON Hugin while he stands silently with his head lowered, listening to all the regular citizens yelling (OS).

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face as he closes his eyes.

Hugin
Hmph, so now even the regular citizens of this city are against the genocide…

Hugin begins to quaver and laugh bitterly.

WIDEN ON Aaliyah, Calligraphy and many Sin Prodigies at the front of the crowd while they watch Hugin (OS) as his laughter grow louder and darker.

WIDEN ON many of the rioting citizens as they stop and watch Hugin (OS) laughing insanely. The Enforcers release the citizens and turn around as well.

WIDEN ON Hugin standing in the middle of the bridge, the corpses of ten slain Sin Prodigies lying around him while he has his head held high, laughing insanely.

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face as he turns his face to his left and his eyes strike open with a stern glare.

And do you think I want this either?!

CLOSE ON (SV) Aaliyah and Calligraphy as they both blink, surprised at what they’ve just head.

WIDEN ON (FV) The Enforcers and the regular Citizens as many of them bare the same surprised reaction.

CLOSE (UV) behind Hugin as he thrusts his right arm back, glaring at the citizens in the distance.

Do you think I chose to do this?! That I dreamt of killing these Sin Prodigies?!?!?! …Well maybe a small part of me does…

CLOSE ON (OV) Hugin as he grabs his head and shakes it around furiously.

AFTER HAVING IT YELLED INTO MY EAR EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST EIGHTEEN YEARS OF MY LIFE!!!!

Hugin shakes around and then turns to face the Sin Prodigies (OS), pointing back at Gabriel’s body (OS).

GRAAAH!!! It’s also because of him!

WIDEN ON (FV) Hugin pointing back at Gabriel’s body.

Because of YOUR guardian and his damn Sin Prodigy sister. She touched The Seal of All Sin and became a Carnage Type that killed a squad of Enforcers I was in charge of!!!

CLOSE ON (SV) Hugin while he glares at the crowd of Sin Prodigies (OS), holding up a clenched fist.

That night I may have forced to accept his true responsibility, but the faults outweighed the accomplishment and because of that I lost my family’s respect!!!

Hugin angrily thrusts his fist back.

WIDEN ON (UV) the cloud of blade like feathers as it floats over the bridge.

(OS)
So I was punished…and in order to regain their respect I accepted this task! To be the ground commander of the Genocide of Sin Project…

WIDEN behind Hugin turning back to face the crowd of regular citizens (OS).

And I vowed to do whatever it takes to see this project go through as my grandfather envisioned!!!

CLOSE ON (SV) Calligraphy’s face as she blinks slowly and her jaw drops.

Calligraphy
(quietly)
He-even Lucifer feels this is wrong…

CLOSE ON (SV) Aaliyah’s face as she blinks twice, gulping as she leans forwards a bit.

Aaliyah
Huh…?

(UV) Hugin’s lowers his head, closing his tightly.

Hugin
I never truly wanted any of this…but I was never given a choice…

Gabriel (OS)
I can relate…

Hugin raises his head and opens his eyes.

Hugin
Huh…?

POV – over Hugin’s shoulder – in the short distance, Gabriel slowly crawls towards Hugin.

CLOSE ON (FV) Gabriel panting heavily as he slowly pulls himself forward with just his left hand, struggling with each pull.

CUT TO BLACK

OPEN SPLIT HORIZONTAL

CLOSE ON (FV) a 7-year-old Gabriel’s chest (head cut off by the top of the screen).

Cyrus (VO)
You need to learn this! It’s important for when you become the next Seal Guardian.

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s left arm (wearing a t-shirt) as it has a few bruises on it.

(VO)
No fooling around! I’m serious this time!!!

CLOSE ON (FV) Gabriel’s face while he has his head lowered and his eyes closed. A few tears slide down his cheeks.

(VO)
YOU MUST DO THIS! YOU’RE A KAMEATO!!

WIDEN ON Gabriel standing on the sidewalk, facing in front of the road with a tall stonewall of someone’s house behind him. Vengeance FADE IN behind Gabriel and puts his claw on his right shoulder.

CLOSE SPLIT HORIZONTAL

OPEN SPLIT HORIZONTAL

CLOSE ON (FV) a 7-year-old Lucifer’s chest (head cut off by the top of the screen).

Dante (VO)
No! Wrong, wrong, WRONG!

CLOSE ON Lucifer’s right arm as a few trails of blood slide down his arm.

(VO)
Do it again! And don’t stop until you can always do it right!!!

CLOSE ON (FV) Lucifer’s face while he has his eyes closed tightly. Tears pour down his cheeks heavily.

(VO)
GET UP! DO IT OR WE’LL ALWAYS HATE YOU!!!

WIDEN ON Lucifer (with short hair) standing on the sidewalk in front of the road with the large stonewall of someone’s house behind him. Hugin and Munin FADE IN behind Lucifer and place a hand on the shoulder their in front of.

POV – middle of the road – REVEAL Lucifer and Gabriel with their respective Assender forms, standing parallel to each other on opposite sidewalks of the same road in a street similar to ones in Melodeena. Down the street, a black shadowy void makes up the makes up the background.

CLOSE SPLIT HORIZONTAL

OPEN ON

CLOSE ON (SV) Gabriel pulling himself towards Hugin (OS) with just one hand.

Lucifer (VO)
You have no idea how much I wish I could kill you and your family!!!! My childhood…my LIFE…MY EXISTENCE has been nothing but a passed down devotion of envy for your family!!!

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face as he looks at Gabriel (OS) with tears in his eyes.

(VO)
Torturing, punishing, training me to carry on a commanding role in my grandfather’s creation! The plans of this project have existed years before I was ever born and as such, I’ve been raised to look up to it as a second father!!!

Hugin blinks suddenly and the tears begin to flow down his cheeks.

Hugin
What…what are you doing?!

POV – over Hugin’s shoulder – Gabriel crawls up to about 15ft from Hugin and begins to stand up.

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s face as he winches in pain, but continues to force himself onto his feet.

Gabriel
You hid it well…so it didn’t come to me until now… you’re just like me.

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face, his eyes tremble while nothing holds back his tears.

Hugin
(confused)
Huh…?

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s weak, trembling face.

Gabriel
Both of us have lived our lives on a parallel path that’s bound down by tradition…

CLOSE ON (SV) Gabriel’s face as he trips a bit, but gains his balance.

But this is the point when those paths will collide…and only one of us will have to continue down that path…while the other will be free to spread his wings and feel the freedom of the sky…

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face as he speechlessly stares at Gabriel with his jaw trembling.

Hugin (OS)
(thinking)
Spread wings…? Freedom of the sky…?

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s face as he pants deeply, trying to remain standing.

Gabriel
You’re family is not God…nor are they being commanded by him…

CLOSE ON Hugin’s trembling and tear filled face.

(OS)
Your family has made their choice…but you’ve never had a chance to make yours…

POV – over Hugin’s shoulder – Gabriel leans over a little, trying to support himself by pressing his left hand against his leg while his right arm dangles.

You don’t want this…you know its wrong…and there’re other ways to regain there respect…there has to be…

Gabriel holds his right arm out slowly.

WIDEN ON (SV) Gabriel’s held out right hand and PAN right to Gabriel as he smiles weakly.

It’s not too late to end this peacefully…there’s still time…

CLOSE ON (FV) Gabriel holding his right hand out while he smiles weakly.

Do what your heart feels is right…dare to be a little different then what years of carved down tradition tells you to do…

CLOSE ON (FV) Hugin’s face as his hair blows subtly with tears dripping down his chin.

Hugin
(speechless)
Gabriel…

Pause for five second as Hugin stares ahead at Gabriel (OS). Hugin suddenly shakes his head franticly with his tears flinging everywhere.

Hugin
No! NO! I can’t!!!

CLOSE ON the hilt Hugin’s sword as he grabs it from the back of his waist.

They have to die…

POV – over Gabriel’s shoulder – Hugin quickly pulls out his sword and desperately swings it at Gabriel.

THEY HAVE TO DIE!!!

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s left eye as it widens.

WIDEN ON (SV) a silhouette over a white background of Hugin slitting Gabriel’s throat, sending him flying back with blood spraying out.

CLOSE ON Aaliyah and Calligraphy as they watch in horror with their eyes widening.

Aaliyah & Calligraphy
(horrified)
GABRIEL!!!

WIDEN ON Gabriel falling back in SLOW MOTION.

CLOSE ON (SV) Gabriel’s face as his eyes close slowly.

Gabriel
(thinking)
Well…

CLOSE ON (SV) Gabriel’s left pocket as he pulls out the brightly glowing Seal of All Sin.

(monstrously dark)
I tried!

CLOSE ON Gabriel’s feet as he gains his balance after taking a few steps back. Gabriel gets on one knee and SLAMS The Seal of All Sin into the ground.

POV – Hugin – The Seal’s glowing summon circle design rapidly forms on the ground around Gabriel, with the wind picking up intensely.

CLOSE ON the blood spraying out of Gabriel’s neck as it suddenly crystallizes. PAN UP to Gabriel’s lowered head, his eyes hidden behind his hair. Gabriel raises his head to REVEAL a demonic glare aimed straight at Hugin (OS).

POV – left side of Gabriel – Gabriel swings left palm out (up against the screen).

POV – Right side of Gabriel – Gabriel swings right palm out (up against the screen).

WIDEN ON Gabriel standing up in the middle of the circle with his arms spread out while a continuous series of pitch-black hands emerge from the circle, clinging to his body. ZOOM OUT behind Hugin and continue further back to behind the front row of Sin Prodigies.

CLOSE ON Calligraphy while she watches helplessly.

Calligraphy
He’s turning into that Carnage Type again…

CLOSE ON Calligraphy’s right eye as it widens and trembles.

… He’s going to kill Lucifer…!

CLOSE ON Aaliyah as she watches helplessly as well and grits her teeth nervously. She turns left and looks over her shoulder.

CLOSE ON Calligraphy while the gusting wind moves her hair.

Aaliyah (OS)
Uh? Bell,

POV – standing beside Calligraphy – Calligraphy looks over at Aaliyah while she’s looks back, pointing at the Sin Prodigies (OS).

Calligraphy
What is it?

Aaliyah
Look…

Calligraphy
Mm…?

Calligraphy looks over at the Sin Prodigies (OS).

POV – Calligraphy and Aaliyah – Many of the Sin Prodigies look filled with fear while lifting up their left sleeves to look at the circle design branded on their arms.

CLOSE ON the circle design on a random Sin Prodigy’s arm.

(OS)
That mark branded on their arms…

CLOSE ON Aaliyah and Calligraphy turning their heads forward at the same time.

Its The Seal’s summon circle!

WIDEN ON Hugin as he stands silently with a stern glare, gritting his teeth.

POV – crowd of Sin Prodigies – the massive pile of pitch-black hands covering Gabriel begins to take shape and form Vengeance. The demonic creature stands up slowly as its legs spread apart.

CLOSE ON (UV) Vengeance as he finishes Assending and lowers his head, exhaling a slow, creepy, shallow breathe.

CLOSE ON Hugin as his glare darkens again and he growls. Aaliyah and Calligraphy can be seen over his shoulder, watching in the background.

CLOSE ON (UV) Hugin’s right fists as he raises it up over his head. His talons strike open and PAN DOWN to Hugin’s face as he swings his palm forward (in front of the screen).

Hugin
FEAST OF A GOD’S SERVANT!!!

WIDEN ON the cloud of blade-like feathers. A beam of feathers shoots down from it.

(FV) Hugin holds out his tightly clenched fist while the beam of feathers fall behind him. The beam curves forward above ground and jets right by Hugin (continuing OS).

WIDEN ON (UV SV) Vengeance as he stares onward emotionlessly and snorts. He raises his left hand and thrusts it at the feathers that are speeding right at him.

Vengeance
GRRAAH!!

CLOSE ON Aaliyah and Calligraphy as they both gasp.

Aaliyah and Calligraphy
Huh?!

ZOOM OUT ON (UV) Vengeance holding up Munin (with no wings) by his skull while he tries desperately to claw his way free of Vengeance’s grip and all the bladed feathers disperse wildly.

Calligraphy (OS)
The other half of Lucifer’s Assender form…!

WIDEN ON (FV) Vengeance holds Munin up even higher and then brutally SLAMS him into the ground, causing a big cloud of dust to rise.

CLOSE ON Munin lying in the small crater, coughing while the cloud of dust settles with his eyes closed tight.

Munin
GR…er, errr…

Munin opens his eyes and looks up, only to have them quickly widen.

(scared)
AH!!!

CLOSE ON Vengeance standing over Munin on all fours, leaning his face in really close

CLOSE ON Vengeance’s head as he exhales another shallow breathe. He opens his mouth with a bright force of energy beginning to swell up between his jaws.

Vengeance
GRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAH!

POV – Vengeance – Munin lies frozen with fear in the crater, looking away as Vengeance’s growl grows louder and the force of energy swelling in his mouth glows brighter.

Munin
(sheer terror)
NO! NO!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

WIDEN ON (FV) the massive explosion of Vengeance’s energy blast that covers him in a cloud of black smoke and chunks of concrete.

CLOSE ON Hugin standing with his eyes widened, horrified as he not only witnesses Munin’s certain demise but also feeling the sense of it through their mental connection.

Hugin
(horrified)
Mu…Munin…

A few feathers gently fall in front of Hugin and he blinks, looking up slowly.

Uh…?

POV – Hugin – with Munin obliterated, the feathers that made up the cloud floating over Hugin disperse and fall to the ground like snow. PAN DOWN quickly to look ahead as Vengeance leaps out of the black cloud of smoke and charges (at the screen) towards Hugin, roaring loudly.

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face as he lowers his head, growling himself as he glares coldly.

GRRR…

WIDEN ON Hugin raising his sword, then pulling it back and finally swinging it outward at an angle, breaking it into its bladed whip mode (the blades race across the screen).

EEEEERRAAH!!!

CLOSE ON Vengeance as he leans in and ferociously bites down on the bladed whip.

CLOSE ON the right side of Vengeance’s mouth as his teeth clamps on a bladed part of the whip and with little effort he shatters it to pieces and tears through the whip.

CLOSE ON Hugin’s right eye as it widens.

Huh…?!

BLACK SCREEN – 4-jagged white lines slash across the screen (from right to left) horizontally. FADE TO (SV) Hugin getting struck by Vengeance’s right claw, shattering his armor as Vivid-Code spews from the large wounds.

AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!

WIDEN ON Vengeance stopping in front of the crowd of Sin Prodigies as he spins around, thrusting his extending tail towards the screen.

CLOSE ON Hugin’s back as it’s thrashed ironically by Vengeance’s tail like a whip.

AH!!!!

(OV) Hugin smacks against the ground and rolls down the bridge while Vengeance’s shadow passes over him.

POV - (UV) behind Hugin – Hugin rolls to a stop as Vengeance jumps in front of him and turns around to look down at him like he did to Munin.

PAN across Vengeance’s cold glaring eyes while he snarls.

POV – beside Vengeance’s left leg – Hugin struggles to sit up, hacking painfully while Vivid-Code gushes out of the large wounds on his right side.

Eah…errrrr…

POV – (UV) behind Hugin – Vengeance opens his mouth as bright glowing energy begins to build up between his jaws.

Vengeance
GRRRRRAAAAAAAAH…

CLOSE ON Hugin’s face, he looks up at Vengeance tiredly with his eyes narrowing because of the brightness of the charging attack.

POV – (UV) behind Hugin – Vengeance fires down on Hugin, consuming him (and the screen) in the blinding faint green light and obliterating chunks of rising concrete.

WIDEN ON (OV) the bridge, revealing all the damage done while Vengeance’s last attack plows across bridge and stops about a third of the way towards the crowd of Sin Prodigies. The smoke rising from the end of the attack slowly fades into the gentle wind.

POV – under Aaliyah’s chin – Calligraphy lowers his head and looks away with her eyes closed.

Calligraphy
Mm…even this is starting to feel wrong…

WIDEN ON (FV) the rising black smoke fading away while Hugin/Munin’s feathers fall around the revealed crater.

CLOSE ON (FV) Hugin’s hand lunges out as his talons dig into the asphalt at the edge of the crater.

(SV) Hugin forces himself out of crater with what little remains of his strength.

Hugin
ERRAH!!!!

He hits the ground hard but manages to force himself onto his hands and knees and crawl forward slowly.

POV – Hugin – his vision gets blurry as he trembles side to side, seeing all the Sin Prodigies ahead of him, along with his own (and Munin’s) falling feathers and he begins to collapse.

(OS)
N-no…

CLOSE ON (SV) Hugin’s head hitting the ground again harshly, slowly turning to his left (facing the screen) baring a sorrowful and defeated expression.

Ah!…uh…

POV – Hugin – amongst all the falling feathers, one in particular elegantly falls in a small puddle of one of the Sin Prodigy’s blood, balancing on its hollow shaft.

(OS)
I gave away everything I had…

CLOSE ON Hugin’s trembling face.

And even that was not enough…

CLOSE ON Hugin’s tear filled and shaking right eye.

I’m sorry…

Hugin closes his eyes slowly.

POV – Hugin – that balancing feather falls back and rests in the puddle of blood.

CLOSE ON (SV) Vengeance’s head while he watches Hugin and lets out a long shallow breathe.

WIDEN ON (OV) Hugin as his entire body begins to glow brightly.

POV – Hugin – the feather and all the other behind it begin to glow and break up into rising sparkles of light.

CLOSE ON (SV) Aaliyah and Calligraphy watching in disarray

Aaliyah
He…he’s De-Assending…

CLOSE ON Calligraphy’s hands as she raises them off the drawing on the massive scroll. The barrier lifts away as all the writing ceases to glow.

(SV) Aaliyah notices the barrier being lifted and looks over at Calligraphy.

Huh? You took away the barrier?

Calligraphy nods gently.

POV – Calligraphy – all of Hugin feathers break up into rising sparkles of light while his body lays glowing in the middle of the bridge. The Carnage Type summon circle forms under Vengeance as purple and black flames consume his body.

WIDEN ON (FV) Vengeance’s silhouette in the flames as his figure gets smaller and more human like while the sparkles of light rise in the foreground. REVEAL Gabriel (with no wounds but are clothes still torn) as the flames swirl into the palm of Gabriel’s left hand, forming The Seal of All Sin.

Calligraphy (OS)
I don’t think we need it anymore…

CLOSE ON (SV) Gabriel (head OS) slipping The Seal back in his torn up jacket’s pocket and silently stepping forward.

(OV) the glowing light covering Hugin slowly fades away to REVEAL Lucifer. Gabriel walks up beside his body (only his feet are shown).

WIDEN ON Gabriel looking down at Lucifer.

Lucifer
(weak)
That would be the second time I brought you inches from death…

Gabriel
Third time, actually.

Lucifer
(weak)
But I still don’t understand…

Gabriel
Understand what?

POV – Gabriel – Lucifer’s opened eyes shift over to look up at (the screen) Gabriel.

Lucifer
You had every reason to kill me…so why didn’t you…?

CLOSE ON (UV) Gabriel as he lowers his shoulders and closes his eyes with a small smile.

CLOSE ON (UV) Gabriel’s softened and sympathetic eyes as he opens them gently.

Gabriel
(sympathy)
Once was enough.

WIDEN ON the front of the crowd of Sin Prodigies watching in disarray.

WIDEN ON the front of the crowd of regular citizens as they stop rioting, and just watch along with The Enforcers.

(OV) Gabriel picks up Lucifer quietly and begins to stand up.

POV – Calligraphy – As soon as Gabriel stands up, he turns to The Enforcers on the other end of the bridge and walks towards them.

CLOSE ON (OV) Gabriel walking down the bridge silently with Lucifer in his arms.

CLOSE ON Lucifer’s face as it bounces up lightly with each footstep Gabriel takes.

POV – Lucifer - sunlight starts to seep through the cracks of the gloomy cloud filled sky.

(SV) Gabriel walks up to one of the Enforcers on the other end of the bridge and holds Lucifer to him.

(quiet)
Here, it’s over.

CLOSE ON (FV) the speechless Enforcer holding Lucifer in his arms, just blinking as he stares ahead.

Enforcer
(nervous)
U-u-uh…?

POV – Enforcer – Gabriel silently walks back to the crowd of Sin Prodigies, with his hands in his pockets.

CLOSE ON Lucifer’s face as he slowly tilts his head to his right.

Lucifer
(thinking)
Why…did you give me this pity…? Why…did you have to end like this…?

CLOSE ON Lucifer’s face as he looks up at the sky again.

(thinking)
It feels like I’ve died…and yet…I’m still here…

WIDEN ON the sky as the clouds spread out more, allowing many rays of heavenly light shining down on Wasraw.

(thinking)
Why…?

CLOSE ON Lucifer’s eyes as they slowly draw to a close.

POV – behind Calligraphy and Aaliyah – Gabriel’s about halfway towards the crowd as everyone watches in silence.

CLOSE ON Aaliyah crouched in dismay while the wind blows her hair subtly.

Aaliyah
(soft, dismay)
He’s sure come a long way from the guy I met in my first year of high school…

CLOSE ON (SV) Calligraphy’s partly saddened face.

Calligraphy
(thinking, soft)
Or even from the idealistic friend I made only a month ago. I’ve learned a lot because of him…

CLOSE ON Gabriel as he walks towards the crowd of Sin Prodigies (OS) with almost no emotion on his face.

(thinking)
…And some of those things I’ve learned, I should put into practice.
