Int. Hyperspace Time Wormhole

WIDEN ON (SV) the time machine traveling (left) through a purple colored wormhole as it passes by many digital clocks, cell phones and the clock settings window found on computers, about half as many regular hand clocks and watches, and even fewer antique grandfather and coo-coo clocks in the background and foreground.

Int. time machine

POV – beside Jem – Pocky leans over the big control panel, staring at the monitors while paper piles up beside her as it prints out endlessly from under the brainwave monitor like an old stock ticker.

Pocky
Well, I don’t see any sundials yet so we must be on the right track.

POV – monitor – Pocky looks over her shoulder at Jem in the background with his head down, still appearing only semi-conscious while strapped down to the chair.

You see? Everything’s perfectly fine under my control!

After getting no response, Pocky looks forward at the monitors (OS).

…Now then,

She pulls up some of the piling paper and analyzes it.

To find out what Jem’s ex-girlfriend did, all I have to do is stop the time machine when his brainwave signals are similar to when he yelled at her, simple enough.

Pocky holds up the beginning of the paper with her right hand and looks at it briefly then looks back at the one held her in left.

Hmm…these brainwaves look pretty similar…

Pocky lowers the papers and stares at the screen with a clueless expression while sticking her lip out to the side.

POV – beside Jem – Pocky scratches the back of her head while a Sweat-Drop appears above her head.

How do I stop this thing again?

Int. Hyperspace Time Wormhole

WIDEN ON the time machine as it starts to glow and is covered in a blinding light.

Ext. Generic Anime Convention 07 – congress center – day – sunny

WIDEN ON (UV) a tall, thick white poll with a big sphere on the top sticking out of the ground near the back end of the parking lot outside the congress center. Bolts begin to spark around the sphere, increasing rapidly until – POP! The sphere atop of the poll is replaced by the time machine…and no one seems to notice.

Int. time machine

WIDEN behind Pocky as she puts her hands on her hips and stares at the monitors victoriously.

Ahhhh, so that how you do it, off screen!

Pocky turns left and rubs her hands together as she walks towards one of the many windows circling the interior of the time machine (OS).

Alright then,

Ext. time machine – day – sunny

CLOSE ON one of the windows as Pocky slides her head up and looks outside.

Lets see what we got here~

Pocky blinks, as her face turns sour with an almost horrified shock.

~HUH?!

POV – Pocky – PAN around the outside of the convention center as random people in all sorts of anime/video game inspired costumes walk around, stand in a long line and pose for pictures.

(OS)
(Shaken and startled)
Pasty skinned nerds in medieval robes?! People wearing blue jeans and white shirts with poor posture chained up to people in light brown suits?! Orange jump suits?! Black Japanese garbs with fake giant swords?! Fat women in sailor uniforms with frilly mini skirts!?

Int. time machine

(SV) Pocky panics with her hands pressed right against the window.

Good lord just where on earth am I?!?!?

CLOSE ON Pocky’s eyes as they widen.

(Gasp)
OH-MY-GOD!!!!!!!!!!

ZOOM OUT from Pocky as she stands with her fists up to her chest.

I must’ve messed up the settings of the time machine and it sent us to an alternate universe where mankind evolved from monkeys instead of apes! AAAAAAAH!!!!!!

Lightning strikes behind Pocky as the background goes black.

POV – behind Jem’s chair – everything returns to normal while Pocky panics and rubs her head franticly in front of the window.

Jem
(quietly)
…It’s just an anime convention.

Pocky turns her head quickly to look at Jem.

Pocky
An ani-wha?

POV – Pocky – Jen just keeps his head down and remains silent.

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky as she turns her head forward and looks out the window again.

Hmm…

Ext. Generic anime convention 07 – congress center – day – sunny

WIDEN ON the big sign set up above the main entrance that says “Generic Anime Convention 07”.

(OS)
Oooooooooh! An anime convention!

Int. time machine

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky laughing lightly and laying her head up against the window as she closes her eyes.

Ha-ha…now it makes sense.

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s eyes striking open.

Wait a minute,

PAN around to over Pocky’s shoulder as she points at Jem boldly.

If you’re down there somewhere does that mean you’re down there in costume?!

Jem
…Yeah, I always made a costume every year.

Pocky
Well who’d you dress up as?

Jem
I don’t remember…

CLOSE ON (FV) Pocky as she blinks.

Pocky
You don’t remember?!

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem strapped down to the chair as Pocky slides in beside it and leans over to look at him.

Well do you at least remember where you were at…~

Pocky looks upward.

POV – Pocky – looking at the big and long digital clock across the top of the big control panel that reads, “Saturday – May 26 – 2007 – 10:33AM”

(OS)
10:33am on Saturday?

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem and Pocky again.

Jem
Of course not, my memory isn’t that great…

Pocky drops her head over Jem’s shoulder comically.

Pocky
(Sighs) So you’re saying I got to do this the hard way huh? Fiiiine.

Pocky stands up properly and walks to the left (going off screen).

POV – Jem – looking to the right at Pocky as she walks up to the entrance/exit of the time machine. She stops in front of it while the walkway slowly slides down.

Oh yeah and Jem, don’t leave the time machine while I’m gone or else you might implode the universe…or something.

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem’s face while he hides his eyes behind his hair.

Jem
(mutters)
Like I got a choice…

Ext. Generic Anime Convention 07 – congress center – day – sunny

CLOSE ON (FV) Pocky waving back at Jem without looking at him.

Pocky
Well, chow!

Pocky takes one-step forward, stepping off the walkway panel and forgetting that the time machine is suspended atop of very tall poll as she drops off screen like a rock.

EEP!

POV – Pocky – SHAKING as she plummets closer and closer towards the asphalt ground.

CLOSE ON (UV) Pocky’s face as she looks down at the ground she’s speeding towards.

Grrrrrrrr oh jeeeeez!

WIDEN ON Pocky as she opens a Hammerspace under her feet and drops into it. PAN to the ground as another Hammerspace portal opens and Pocky flies out of it.

Aaaah!

The portal closes and Pocky lands on her butt.

Oof! …

Pocky rubs her butt as she looks over at it.

Ow…

WIDEN behind Pocky as she stands up, placing her hands on her hips while looking ahead at the busy convention ahead.

Well, Jem maybe be in costume but his face hasn’t changed.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as she nods with determination.

Yep, as long as he ain’t wearing a mask or a wig, finding him will be no problem.

CUT AWAY to a BLUE SCREEN with YELLOW font.

British narrator (VO)
Six hours later…

CUT BACK to Pocky walking tiredly across the outside of the congress center.

Pocky
Ugh…where is he? It’s like a Where’s Waldo book except he decided to change his clothes for once.

Pocky reaches a small patch of grass and comically falls to the ground on her stomach.

CLOSE ON (FV) Pocky’s face while her tired eyes shift from right to left

Hmm…huh!?

Pocky eyes open up, suddenly rejuvenating with life as she sees something off to her left.

POV – Pocky – looking ahead, Past Jem (in costume) can be seen with Past Connie along with 3 other girls (Connie, Sophie and Lorene in costume as well) and 2 guys as they make a left and walk down the sidewalk along side the road.

CLOSE ON (SV) the group walking down the sidewalk (and going OS) as Pocky pops her head through the hedge in the background and looks over at the group (OS).

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s face as she blinks, eyes growing intense..

Hmm…

Int. Hotel – Sophie & Lorene’s hotel room

CLOSE ON a box of jumbo strawberry pocky sticking out of a bag while some of the girls can be heard giggling in the background.

CLOSE ON Lorene’s face while she snacks on some chocolate moose pocky.

Lorene
They’re so many Chlorine cosplayers this year it’s ridiculous.

PAN left to Sophie sitting at the back of the bed closest to the window while she holds a plushie with several others around.

Sophie
Yeah I know, I bet next year it’s gonna be all Decease Memo cosplayers.

WIDEN ON (OV) the entire room from the back left corner. One of the guys sits it the chair next to the large window/glass wall reading manga, the other guy lays on his stomach on the bed furthest from the window with Past Connie sitting beside him and Lorene beside her. Past Jem sits at the front end of the bed closest to the window with Sophie at the back end hugging all her plushies and Lela sitting between both beds.

Lorene (OS)
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised.

POV – Lorene – looking at the big window/glass wall, Pocky peaks her head up just high enough that she can look into the room.

Ext. hotel – day – sunny

WIDEN ON (SV) Pocky looking into the hotel room 3 stories above the ground, hanging on by just gripping the small concrete edge with no other forms of support.

Pocky
Ah…perfect they’re all here, now to find out what she did…

Int. hotel – Sophie & Lorene’s hotel room

WIDEN ON (OV) the entire room as Past Connie gets up and walks over to her bag set aside at the middle of the left wall while everyone continues to chat.

POV – over Past Jem’s shoulder – Past Connie looks through her bag and pulls out some of the jumbo strawberry pocky and snacks on one, she then looks at Past Jem and pulls another pocky out and holds it out to him.

Past Connie
What some Jem?

POV – Past Connie – Past Jem shakes his head slowly and very quietly, looking rather saddened and doing nothing to try and hide it.

POV – Past Jem – Past Connie tilts her head a little.

Mm, you sure?

POV – over Past Connie’s shoulder – Past Jem nods quietly.

POV – over Past Jem’s shoulder – Past Connie nods and gets up quietly, putting the jumbo pocky away.

Alright.

Ext. hotel – day – sunny

WIDEN (OV) behind Pocky while she continues to hang on and look into the room.

Pocky
What the hell?

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s face as she starts to get confused and frustrated.

Jem’s already acting like he was when his Ex approached him in the Present! Aw man…don’t tell me I have to go FURTHER back in time

Int. hotel – Sophie and Lorene’s hotel room

POV – window – André (lying on the bed) points at the Pocky (OS).

André
Hey dude, what’s that over there?

Everyone except Past Jem looks over at the window to see what he’s pointing at.

Sophie, Lorene, Lela, Connie and Marcus
Huh?

Ext. Hotel – day – sunny

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s face as she blinks with surprise and a flashing exclamation mark appears over her head.

Pocky
~EH!!

Int. Hotel – Sophie and Lorene’s hotel room

POV – Past Connie – Pocky quickly lets go of the edge and goes falling down like a rock.

POV – window – everyone except Past Jem look at each other with confusion.

Lorene
Now what was that?

Marcus
A bird?

Lorene
How many birds have anime inspired red hair?

André
Well unless Spiderman’s an anime fan I doubt that was a cosplayer

Sophie
HAHAHA! Spiderman as an anime fan…that’d be hilarious.

CLOSE ON Connie’s intrigued face while she continues to look at the window (OS) while everyone chats to each other and begin to laugh rather then worry.
Ext. hotel – day- sunny

CLOSE ON the big shrubs at the bottom of the hotel as Pocky pops her head out and coughs out a leaf.

Pocky
Blah! Ack! …Why didn’t I use Hammerspace to break my fall again? Ah screw it, no time to worry about that right now.

Int. time machine

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem’s head while he keeps his head down.

WIDEN ON Jem’s box sitting beside the wall as a Hammerspace portal opens up over the box and Pocky falls out on top of it.

OOF! Ow…gotta work on these landings…

Pocky rolls off the box while the Hammerspace portal closes.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem’s face while he keeps his head down.

POV – Jem – Pocky ponders as she speed walks from the left side of the control panel to the right.

Gr…

Pocky turns around and walks to her left side again while rubbing her hair frantically.

Gah…

She turns around again and zips to the waist high pile of paper printing out from under the brainwave monitor.

CLOSE behind Pocky while she examines a couple random sections of the piling paper held in her hands.

(Aggravated sigh) All that time I wasted out there…

Pocky looks over at Jem (OS)

You could’ve at least told me this wasn’t time or place where your Ex-girlfriend did what would make you like this!

CLOSE ON Jem’s mouth.

Jem
…She broke up with me.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as she blinks.

Pocky
Hmm?

POV – Pocky – Jem doesn’t move and just keeps his head down.

Jem
Connie broke up with me, that’s what she did.

CLOSE ON Pocky as she blinks a couple more times.

Pocky
Oh…well duh! The point is I need to find out hoooow she did it, ya follow?

Jem
…Yeah.

Pocky
Goooood, now then,

Pocky turns around and fiddles through all the papers, tossing them all around her.

My only guess to make t his as simple as possible is to go to when these brainwave signals first appeared

Pocky turns around (to face the screen) holding up a bunch of papers.

So no matter how she did it, it happened anywhere between now and-2 years ago!?

She drops her head with a lack of enthusiasm.

Goof grieeeef. But fiiiiine.

Pocky tosses the papers away and gets up.

Ext. Generic Anime Convention 07 – congress center – day – sunny

WIDEN ON (UV) the time machine as the top and bottom halves begin spinning rapidly in opposite directions. The entire time machine starts to glow brightly and suddenly …POP! It vanishes in a flash of light and the sphere that was originally on top of the white poll takes its proper place again without anyone seeming to notice.

Ext. farm land – evening

WIDEN ON a hillside as bolts of electricity spark around one of the trees at the top of the hill and POP! The tree is replaced by the time machine.

Int. time machine

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky while she leans back from the monitor, pulling her hands away from the controls.

Well, here we are…

Pocky turns left (away from the screen) and heads to the nearest window beside the control panel.

POV – Pocky – Past Jem can be see with Past Connie a short distance down at the bottom of the hillside while they hold hands.

(OS)
And there you guys are.

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s face while she keeps a close eye on what’s happening outside the time machine.

Perfect, we here just in time…

Pocky looks over at Jem (OS)

But just incase you don’t speak up and this isn’t the soul crushing event, rather then making a time-wasting fool of myself, we’ll leave the eyes and ears to Bird-Bot 9000

She turns her head to her right and looks down at the control panel. PAN down to the end of the control panel as Pocky pushes a few buttons.

Ext. farmland – hillside – evening

CLOSE ON the roof of the time machine as the small circle at the very top opens up and a small robot canary slide up. The little robot tweets, spreads it’s wings and flaps into the air. PAN around the bird to an OVERVIEW of it flying above Past Jem and Past Connie.

Int. time machine

WIDEN ON (OV) the bridge of the time machine as a humongous monitor slides down above the control panel.

WIDEN ON (FV) Jem in his chair as Pocky slides in from the right on her butt beside him with a bowl of popcorn and a television remote.

Camera on. Zoooom in!

CLOSE ON Bird-Bot’s head as its eyes extend out like binoculars.

WIDEN ON (FV) Jem and Pocky as she holds up the remote and pushes a button.

Volume up!

CLOSE ON Bird-Bot’s head as its mouth opens up.

WIDEN ON (FV) Jem and Pocky as she tosses the remote over her shoulder and chows down on a bit of popcorn.

And now we sit back and watch the past unfold!

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem’s mouth as it flinches subtly.

Ext. farmland – hillside – evening

CLOSE ON a heard of cows just grazing peacefully behind a wooden fence.

CLOSE ON Past Connie and Past Jem’s hands as they hold each other’s lovingly while laughing together.

CLOSE ON (FV) Past Jem and Past Connie smiling at each other while they walk down the field contently.

Past Jem
Hehehe, wow…it’s beautiful out here…I really wish I could live out here…it’d be great.

Past Connie
Yeah…it’s not bad, guess I’m just too used to seeing it everyday

Past Jem
And don’t forget the smell!

Past Connie
Hehe, yeah…

POV – over Past Jem’s shoulder – Past Connie looks down a little bit, not making direct contact with Jem while he looks ahead contently.

Hey Jem…

Past Jem
Yeah Connie?

WIDEN ON the cows grazing quietly.

Past Connie (OS)
Could you…try acting a little more normal in front of my parents…?

Past Jem (OS)
Oh Connie…

CLOSE ON Jem rubbing his shoulder up against Connie’s, shoving her playfully.

Mewwwwww…

CLOSE ON Connie’s face while she smiles lightly.

Past Connie
I know, I know, but you do have to try and make a good impression remember?

CLOSE ON Jem’s face while he looks at Connie with a light smile on his face as well.

Past Jem
Yeah…I know, sorry.

Int. time machine

CLOSE ON (FV) Pocky as she puts the popcorn aside and frown, holding her hand out to the big monitor (OS).

Pocky
What is this crap? You two are still together and all lovey dovey! No way is she going to break up with you here!

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem sitting in his chair, beginning to bite his lip as Pocky gets up and steps in the background and steps towards the control panel (OS).

Ugh!

POV – Jem – Pocky stops in front of the piling papers and pulls a bunch of the pile up, quickly analyzing everything and tapping her foot.

Grrrr…

Pocky looks Jem (OS).

Jem, can I ask YOU a question?

CLOSE ON Jem while he keeps his head low.

Jem
Sure.

Pocky (OS)
Is the reason you don’t want to talk about this break-up because you honestly don’t remember how she did it?

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem’s face as he nods slowly.

Jem
…Yeah, all I remember are the tears…and the sudden hatred I hate for her…!

Jem bites his lip hard.

CLOSE ON Pocky while she examines a section of the brainwave papers.

Heh, I have no choice but to believe it.

Pocky turns the sheet of paper around.

CLOSE ON the paper, showing nothing but blank space.

CLOSE ON Pocky as she turns the paper back and looks at it.

A couple signals here and there, but after a big one…blank for at least about three months, perfect.

She tosses the paper over her shoulder, folds her arms and begins walking around (and going OS).

WIDEN ON (FV) and PAN across Jem staring down at his lap quietly.

(Aggravated sigh)

POV – Jem – Pocky turns around to face him, moving her hands to her hips.

You know what this means right?

CLOSE ON (OV) Jem’s head.

(OS)
We’re gonna dig up that lost memory.

Jem cringes.

Ext. Connie’s house – night – heavy rain

WIDEN ON the thick dark gray clouds as it pours heavily.

WIDEN ON the front of Connie’s house with their farm right behind it.

WIDEN ON the time machine carelessly parked in the middle of the road left of the house.

Int. time machine

WIDEN ON (OV) the bridge of the time machine while it shows Past Connie’s family sitting down for dinner on the monitor.

CLOSE ON Pocky taking her “seat” beside Jem’s chair again with the same bowl of popcorn.

Now if this isn’t it then I’m going to be pulling out a lot of punching bags.

Int. Connie’s house – dining room/kitchen

WIDEN ON (OV) Past Connie and her family sitting down to dinner as the phone in the living room suddenly rings.

Connie’s mother
I’ll get it.

Connie’s mother gets up and steps out of the kitchen/dining room.
Int. Connie’s house – living room

CLOSE ON Connie’s mother as she picks up the phone set up on the wall, right beside the entrance to the kitchen.

Hello?

Past Jem (OS)
(on the phone)
…Can I speak to Connie please?

Connie’s mother
…Just a sec,

Connie’s mother looks into the kitchen.

Connie, it’s for you.

Past Connie (OS)
Who is it?

Int. time machine

WIDEN ON Jem keeping his head straight down, trying desperately to ignore everything he hears at full echoing volume while Pocky watches causally and eats popcorn without a care.

Connie’s mother (OS)
(Through the monitor)
It’s Jem

Past Connie (OS)
(Through the monitor)
Tell him I’m busy.

Int. Connie’s home – living room

WIDEN ON Connie’s mother looking into the kitchen while she has her hand over the speaking end of the phone.

Connie’s mother
Connie, say something to him, please.

Past Connie marches into the living room, grabs the phone and slams it off.

Int. time machine

CLOSE ON Pocky as she blinks and tilts her head.

Pocky
THAT’S it? What was that about?

CLOSE ON Jem’s mouth as he bites his lip hard, drawing a small bit of blood that’s beaten on the way down his face by his tears that shed at the same time.

Jem
Mmm….

Ext. Connie’s house – night – raining

CLOSE ON Bird-Bot standing at the windowsill outside Connie’s dinning room as the front door slams open (OS). Bird-Bot quickly turns its head in that direction.

WIDEN ON (OV) Connie’s house as Connie marches out, boiling with outrage.

Connie’s mother (OS)
Connie! Where are you going!?

Connie
To get some freaking fresh air! Don’t bother me!!!

Int. time machine

POV – right side of Jem’s chair – Pocky chews with her mouth opened while sparks begin to jump around Jem’s cartoon-ish gloved shackles.

Pocky
Heh, if I were you Jem and you weren’t like 10 kilometers away from her house; you can bet I’d be making my way there right now to give her a piece of my mind.

Jem almost effortlessly stands up from his seat, causing all sorts of sparks to go flying.

Huh?!

WIDEN behind Pocky and Jem as he stands up and begins to step towards the exit, shaking off the robotic tentacle things that were holding him down.

Hey! Jem!!

Ext. Connie’s house – night – raining

CLOSE ON the exit of the time machine as the panel slides down and Jem just rushes out as fast as he can. Pocky runs to the exit and stands there, watching Jem run (OS)

You’re not supposed to leave the time machine! JEM!!!!!!!!!

CLOSE behind Jem as he stops with his fists clinched and Connie only about 15ft away down the road.

Jem
GR…CONNIE!!!!!

CLOSE ON Connie as she turns around quickly and blinks.

Past Connie
…Jem?!

POV – Connie – looking ahead at Jem in the background, almost not even noticing Pocky or the big time machine in the background.

WIDEN (OV) between Jem and Past Connie.

…What do you want? It’s over.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem as he pants very tiredly, already struggling to stand up while his hair drips and he looks like a total mess.

Jem
(Pant)…(pant)…why’d you break up with me…?!

CLOSE ON (FV) Past Connie as she looks away, folding her arms a little.

Past Connie
Not this crap again…

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem.

Jem
Why…why?

WIDEN behind Jem.

Past Connie
Because it wasn’t working out anymore! Everyone except Sophie mocked you behind your back! You’re lazy! You’re too shy for your own good and too hyper when it’s not appropriate.

CLOSE ON Connie as she holds her right arm quietly.

And quite frankly you were an embarrassment…

Past Connie looks straight at Jem (OS).

I was embarrassed being with you!!

CLOSE ON Jem’s eyes as they widen.

(FV) Jem stands struck with shock, shaking his head slowly.

Jem
No…no-no, no that isn’t it…the Connie I fell in love with was never that self-centered!!

WIDEN behind Jem.

Past Connie
Jem! I’m not that same person you fell in love with and neither are you! We’ve both changed and unfortunately that meant we also grew apart! Can’t you accept that?!

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem as he shakes his head violently and puts his arms over his head, thrusting the entire upper half of his body instead.

Jem
No…NO!!! That isn’t why this is happening…!

CLOSE ON (UV) Jem’s face while he has his eyes closed tightly.

Admit it Connie…it was all his fault…

CLOSE ON Jem’s face as he thrusts it around and glares at Connie with gushing down his cheeks.

IT WAS ALL BECAUSE THAT BASTARD RAPED YOU!!!!

CLOSE ON (FV) Past Connie’s face as it grows pale, her eyes widen and lightning strikes in the background.

WIDEN ON (FV) Past Connie she just stands there speechlessly.

Past Connie
…How could you say such a thing Jem…?

QUICK FLASH of several random scenes of Connie gripping onto Jem in tears.

CLOSE ON (SV) Past Connie’s face as she closes her eyes tightly, unable to hold her anger in any longer.

GRRRR… I HATE YOU!!!!

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem’s face going blank as another bolt of lighting crackles in the background.

WIDEN ON (UV) the time machine as it’s struck by the very bolt of lightning and begins to spark at dangerous levels.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face while she looks around at all the sparks coming off the time machine.

Pocky
Huh? Uh oh…this can’t be good.

WIDEN ON the time machine as it explodes, followed by a series of rippling blue waves of energy.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem’s speechless face as the explosion clears in the background.

WIDEN ON Past Connie as she closes her eyes in shame and turns her back to Jem.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem’s face as he blinks, regaining focus as he holds out his hand quickly.

Jem
Huh?! No wait!

POV – Jem – Past Connie walks away from Jem, but everything around him fades back to the abandoned trailer park.

(OS)
Connie!!!!

Ext. abandoned trailer park – night – raining

(SV) Jem reaches out at nothing and begins to realize he’s back in the present.

Con…nie…

Jem collapses to his knees…and then onto all 4s in the mud as he sobs uncontrollably.

(FV) PAN up from Jem sobbing to show Pocky standing not far behind him.

WIDEN ON (FV) Pocky standing with her head down, eyes hidden behind her hair while scrap metal of the time machine falls around her.

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky’s face while she almost grins.

Pocky
…Heh, so that’s how it happened…

POV – standing behind Jem – Jem cries helplessly in the rain until an umbrella is put over him, shielding him from the rain. Jem looks confused as he raises his head and look up (at the screen).

Jem
Huh…?

WIDEN ON Jem on his knees while Pocky stands beside him, providing the umbrella and offering a cup of tea.

Pocky
Chamomile tea?

POV – Pocky – Jem looks up at Pocky in disarray, not sure what to say. Suddenly though, his disarray turns to a hate fueled anger as he slap the cup of chamomile tea away.

CLOSE ON the cup of tea as it lands in the mud on its side and the tea sinks into the ground.

WIDEN ON Pocky and Jem as he stands up slowly with his fists clenched.

Jem
Why did you put me through all that!?

Pocky
Because making you incredibly sad was on the list, I wanted to find out what your ex-girlfriend did so I could do the same and hopefully make you unleash your power.

POV – Pocky – she gives a stern look while she points at herself.

And as a form of gratitude for helping unleash your power to do anything you could give me what I want in return. It’s as simple that.

POV – over Pocky’s shoulder – Jem looks at Pocky fir a few seconds…then shakes his head a lot with frustration.

My power…? …My power, my power, my power!! All it’s ever about with you is my power!!!

Jem glares at Pocky.

Is that the only reason you’re here?!

CLOSE ON (SV) Jem’s face and Pocky puts her finger up to his nose and flicks it.

Pocky (OS)
Well duh!

CLOSE (UV) behind Jem as he’s sent flying back into the mud while Pocky stands over him with her hands on her hips.

Jem
Ow!

Pocky
I thought you knew that.

POV – Pocky – Jem’s lip quivers as he quickly curls into a ball.

Jem
This power…

CLOSE ON Jem’s face while he has his eyes closed tightly.

I WISH I NEVER HAD THIS POWER!!!!

WIDEN ON (SV) Pocky pulling Jem forcefully out of the mud by his collar and glaring down at him.

Pocky
Don’t you DARE say that again! In your state that might come true!

Jem
I don’t care!

Pocky
Well I do!!!

POV – over Pocky’s shoulder – Jem keeps his head low but looks up at Pocky from the corner of his eyes.

Jem
And what will you do if I wish I never had the power? Kill me? Either way you don’t win…

WIDEN ON (SV) Pocky throwing Jem back into the mud.

Pocky
You pathetic little child!!

Jem coughs and gags on the mud as he tries to get up slowly.

POV – Pocky – Jem gets on his knees and looks up at Pocky (OS) slowly.

(OS)
Pfft, if it means anything to you right now. Because you left the time machine like I told you not too and basically wrote an impossible event into your past, you mucked up the time space continuity, possibly merging the people of the present with the world of the past, meaning your house might still be standing.

Jem
Are you serious?!

WIDEN ON Jem and Pocky as she shrugs her shoulder.

Pocky
Go find out for yourself.

Jem gets up quickly and runs off screen with out hesitation.

CLOSE ON Pocky as she drops her shoulders.

(Sigh) Even I’m starting to feel bad for the bastard, and that’s just wrong.

Ext. Jem’s property – night – raining

CLOSE ON the middle of the still flooded crater as the water now boils intensely.

PAN UP from the flooded crater to Jem while he silently stands in before it.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem as Pocky walks up behind him and taps her chin.

Wow, it’s flooded already? Hmm…well it has raining a lot…but whys it boiling?

WIDEN behind Jem and Pocky as something randomly falls from the sky into the water, causing a big splash.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem and Pocky. Jem doesn’t budge or flinch while Pocky gets startled and raises her arms, ready to shield herself.

EH!?!…Huh?

(OV) the water settles to reveal the falling object was Jem’s cardboard box that somehow survived the explosion and a very high impact into boiling water.

CLOSE ON (FV) Jem and Pocky while she puts her finger against her chin.

That box is STILL in one piece? Wow I wonder what company makes THOSE boxes.

CLOSE ON the brand on the side of the box that says “Iron Cog Solid Inc.

WIDEN ON (OV) the box as it floats to the end of the crater in front of Jem.

CLOSE ON Jem’s right hand as he grabs the box.

WIDEN behind Pocky as Jem steps away from her, (going OS) and dragging the box behind him. Pocky looks over and watches Jem.

Hey, Jem – where you going?

POV – over Pocky’s shoulder – Jem drops the box and begins to crawl inside.

Jem
To the only place I can call home anymore.

Jem closes up the box from the inside.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face while she watches.

(OS)
And I’m not coming out no matter WHAT this time!!

WIDEN ON Jem’s box as Pocky slides in behind it.

Pocky
Aw come on Jem, now this is REALLY pathetic!

Pocky begins rattling the box around.

Come on…

CUT TO Pocky leaning against the right side of the box as she tries to tip it over.

Come on…!!

Pocky slides down the front of the box (facing the screen) in defeat.

(tired sigh)

CLOSE ON (FV) Pocky’s face.

Well, this is a bust…

CLOSE ON a section of the boiling flooded crater as a slimy, goulash pitch black colored hand slides out of the water. Many others begin to come out as well

POV – back of the box – weird monstrous gargles and groans can be heard and Pocky peaks her head over the box to see what’s the cause of this. Her eyes widen.

Hmm…uh?!

WIDEN (OV) behind Pocky, revealing a small army of weird hunched over black imp like creatures with big stone disked shaped masks covering their “faces” while many tentacles come down from their heads like dreadlock hair crawling out from the boiling flooded crate.

POV – back of the box – Pocky stands up and blinks.

A random encounter?! I thought those only happened in Japanese RPGs…EEP!

WIDEN ON (angled view) Pocky leaping back as one of the creature lunged at her and crashes into the ground in front of the box.

POV – creature – Pocky skids back dramatically on one knee into the road. ZOOM IN on Pocky’s face as she grits her teeth, eyes growing stern.

GRRR…huh!?

Pocky blinks.

POV – behind Pocky – all of the creatures walk straight towards Jem’s box.

POV – Pocky – the creatures begin hugging around the box, ready to claw it open to get at what’s inside.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s feet as she jets forward FAST!!

SHAKING CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as she glares at the creatures (OS).

OH NO YOU DON’T!!!!

WIDEN ON Pocky as she hurls herself at the creatures, SMASHING one in the face with a frying pan, she flips on top of the box and begins doing all sorts of insane and comical Kong Fu moves to fend off all the creatures and send them flying with whacks of her frying pan.

POV – Pocky – she smashes her frying pan vertically on creature’s head, leaving it massively bent up, she spins around and throws it at another creature, sending that one flying as she pulls out a bowling pin and breaks it over a third creatures head.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face she struggles to fend off all the creatures.

GAH! Come on! AH!

One of the creatures grabs onto her face.

WIDEN ON all the creatures beginning to pile up on Pocky and the box. Suddenly, BOOM! A huge explosion occurs that sends all the monsters flying.

CLOSE PAN ON from Pocky’s feet to her face as she grins, holding up a 5-pin bowling ball with a lit fuse like a bomb.

Alright! Who wants the next one?

POV – Pocky all the creatures hit the ground and get up like it barely hurt them, one of the creatures runs right at her faster then the others.

CLOSE ON Pocky as she tosses the bomb up and grabs it, holding it back like she’s ready to pitch.

Oh, we got an eager volunteer! WELL ENJOY!!!

Pocky HURLS the bomb with all her might. PAN around to the back of the bomb as he smashes into the creature’s stone mask/face – but the creature just keeps running!

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as her eyes widen, after not getting the result she expected.

HUH?!

WIDEN ON (UV) the creature running towards the box and hugging it. The bomb goes off and a MASSIVE explosion occurs.

CLOSE ON the box flying out of the smoke in SLOW MOTION as it spins in the air.

WIDEN ON (UV) Pocky hitting the road head first and bouncing around a couple times as she rolls to a stop and gets on her knees, looking around for the box.

AH! ER…huh?! Where’s the box!

Pocky looks up.

Huh…?

WIDEN behind Pocky, as many of the creatures gather together while other leap up towards the box spinning in the air.

CLOSE ON (UV) Pocky looking up at box (OS) like all hope is lost.

Ah crap…

CLOSE ON the box as the flaps slowly open up while facing down at the ground…the music begins to pick up.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as she watches.

CLOSE ON the box as an incredible beam of energy blasts out of it.

WIDEN ON the group of monsters standing under the box as the powerful beam SMASHES down on them with incredible force.

CLOSE ON the monsters caught in the beam screaming as they’re quickly obliterated. The light clears and Jem’s box hits the ground and bounces off screen.

WIDEN ON (UV) Pocky getting up as the box rolls in front of her like dice.

CLOSE ON Pocky as she blinks with great confusion.

Huh? Uh?

POV – Pocky – she looks down at the back of Jem’s box and then ahead at all the monsters running towards them.

WIDEN ON Pocky as she pulls out another frying pan.

Oh whatever! HERE TAKE THIS!!!

Pocky WHACKS the box, sending it spinning down the road towards the monsters.

CLOSE ON (OV) the box as it spins around, but stops with the opening facing Pocky and not the monsters. Light begins glow out from the opening as another beam charges.

CLOSE ON Pocky’s face as her eyes widen.

EH?!

WIDEN ON the box as it fires the beam, launching itself like a rocket.

(SV) the box RAMS into one of the creatures and ends up tipping over so the opening is facing the sky as the beam diminishes.

WIDEN ON the box as every remaining creature leaps in the air to descend down toward the box.

CLOSE ON a few of the descending creatures as they all roar out loudly.

CLOSE ON the box as it fires another beam straight up at all the creatures (OS).

WIDEN ON the creatures as they all get hit by the beam and consumed by it’s immense light.

CLOSE ON their faces as they shriek and are quickly obliterated.

WIDEN ON the box as the beam shoots off into the sky. ZOOM OUT to show the beam shooting through the clouds, making them disperse and putting an end to the rain.

WIDEN ON (FV) Pocky just standing quietly with a broken frying pan in her hand as her buffalo gallops up behind her with the storage truck

Pocky drops the frying pan and pulls out her list.

POV – behind Pocky – she examines her list while the beam coming out of Jem’s box stops in the background and a bright blue sky shines through the spreading clouds.

Well, there’s no denying that making Jem sad can unleash his power…but it’s just way too risky.

POV – Pocky – she crosses out “Make him incredibly sad” from the list and rolls it up.

CLOSE ON (SV) Pocky while she looks at Jem’s box (OS).

(Sigh) So, might as well move onto what’s next on the list.

CLOSE ON Jem’s box as he slowly peaks his head out, looking rather tired.

Jem
Huh…what happened…?

Pocky walks up to Jem and leans against his box, he looks at her like he’s half asleep.

Pocky
Hey Jem, I’ve been thinking.

Jem
About?

Pocky
Well, I’ve been treating you like crap lately annnnnd…since you kind of saved my life and all, I think you’re entitled to a bit of a break.

CLOSE ON (OV) Jem’s face as he watches Pocky head toward the flooded crater (OS) and begins to open a really big Hammerspace portal. Jem’s eyes widen greatly.

Jem
(Gasp)

CLOSE ON the front of the crater as a house suddenly drops down on top of it.

POV – Jem – Pocky leans her hand against an exact replica of Jem’s house.

Pocky
So here ya go.

CLOSE ON Jem as he leans at the edge of his box, jaw dropped.

Jem
My-my house…

WIDEN ON Pocky as she walks across the lawn to Jem (OS).

Pocky
Yeah, I can pull out time machines so why not houses? No need to thank me~

Jem suddenly tackles Pocky to the ground, hugging her with extreme joy while she tries to pry him off.

~ACK!!!

Jem
Thank you…thank you so much!!!

Pocky
Ah-uh-hey!! What did I just say? Ah come on! Let go!!

WIDEN behind Pocky and Jem as a college bus drives by the house.

CLOSE ON Connie from outside the bus window as looks over at Jem (OS) and blinks.

POV – Connie – Jem can be seen clearly happily squeezing Pocky in the middle of the lawn in front of the his house that’s suddenly back like nothing ever happened to it.

WIDEN ON Jem hugging Pocky tightly.

Thank you so much Pocky…you’re the best…

Jem begins cry on Pocky’s shoulder while she looks down at him with a comical disgust.

Pocky
What, you’re crying?! Oh jeez…Even when I’m nice to him he cries!
